Write the words under the picture using the correct letter formation.

Challenge: Can you write a simple sentence using one or more of the words?

Maths:

Starter: Watch the subatise clip:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRR9LK3zfho

Activity: Now we are going to make up some number stories to do with finding the total of 2 groups/ addition. You can use any objects or toys to help you but it is important to use the language ‘First there were...., then there were.....more, now there are....  (e.g first there were 3  bricks, then there were more bricks, now there are 6). As we have been working with combinations of numbers up to 8, start low and then you can always add more. Model some stories first and then let your child have a go.

Challenge: Can you record these number stories in any way by drawing pictures? E.g first there were 5 aliens, then 3 more, now there are 8 aliens). We would love/ hear about any number stories you have created.

Phonics:

Ask your grown up to say a sound, you must repeat the sound whilst doing the action. Let’s see if you remember them! Do this for about 10 phonemes. Listen to the jolly phonics sound songs on Youtube:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=74kIrFdOaPw

Listen to Mr Hornby’s ‘ai’ and ‘ee’ song on Tapestry to recap the new sounds we learnt this week!

Art

Can you draw a big circle to represent the moon? On this moon we would like you to draw an alien village. How many aliens live there? What do their houses look like? Is there a toy shop? What is their supermarket called?

Music:

Listen and join in with Mr Hornby’s drumming lesson on Tapestry.

Yoga:

To finish off a busy week we would love you to all join in some yoga with Rebecca, Jojo and Gran Gran. Maybe your grown-ups could join in with you too to de-stress! Here is the link:

Don’t forget to say who it is from. (E.g To Mum, I had a picnic on the moon, Love _, OR To Dad, there are no trees on the moon, love _. Remember to try to spell out the words using your phonic knowledge and to leave a finger space between words. What needs to go at the end of every sentence?

(e.g draw a ten frame and 8 dots in different ways, write the number 8 and draw 8 objects in different ways – 4 cats and 4 smiley faces, 6 apples and 2 bananas etc – you could have a go at writing the number sentence for each combination (3 + 5 = 8)(Although we haven't covered this in class yet as there is no expectation for Reception children to write number sentences, you may feel your child would like the opportunity to do this – explain to them that and means add and the equals sign means together/total)

Science investigation

Waterproof investigation for Baby Bear's helmet. Baby Bear’s head got wet when he went to the moon. Can you think of a good material that he could make a helmet out of so that he wouldn’t get wet? It needs to be waterproof – do you know what that means? Is there anything waterproof in your house?

Carry out an investigation by adding some water drops to a piece of card/plastic (bag)/ tinfoil/tissue/cloth (Over a jar or clear plastic bottle would be great). First make a prediction – do you think this material will be waterproof? When you have added water, see what happens and talk about it with a grown up. Was your prediction, right? How could you record your findings?

Challenge: Can you make a waterproof helmet for one of your teds/cuddlies?
