YEAR 3 & 4
We started thinking about how and why Stone Age people would make art.
Where did they get their colours from? Why did they build henges?
We learnt how the prehistoric cave paintings were discovered in Lascaux, France and used these as a starting point for our own work.
How could we make our paper have a 'stoney' texture? What materials could we use to replicate Stone Age cave art?
Using the frescos from Pompeii as our starting point, we learnt how to mix 'warm' colours and to paint 'wet on wet'.
We learnt about the importance of the Ancient Roman Gods and collaged them to our fresco backgrounds.
Bellissimo!
