English activity - Role-play

Can you make up your own explorer adventure? Act out your great adventure. See if you can involve your family with the fun!

Extension/alternative task – you could write the script for your adventure in your jotter. Set it out like this: 

Captain: Hey you, hurry up with that barrel!
Sailor 1:

Aye, aye Captain!

 

Maths activity

In your jotter write down as many calculations as you can that have the answer 10. 

You can use any operation i.e. addition, subtraction, multiplication or division

Creative activity

Can you create something to do with the Arctic or Antarctic?  Use your imagination and see what you can create.  It could be a some artwork about a cold place, a song about polar animals, a home for a polar creature. 

You could explain in your jotter what it was that you created.

English activity - Create a Wanted poster asking for crew!

Imagine you are an explorer and you want to round up a crew of your own to go an an expedition.

Things to think about:

What qualities would they need to have? e.g. big/strong/clever/brave

Would you pay them? What would be their incentive to want to come on your expedition?
