Week beginning 11th May
This week we will be exploring colours. At the end of The Very Hungry Caterpillar he turns into a beautiful butterfly with all colours of the rainbow.
Which colours were on his wings?
Explore
At this time of year we start to get more sunshine and that makes the world around us even brighter and more colourful! Can you look out of your window, or go into the garden or even on a walk try and spot as many different colours as possible. Can you try to name all the different colours you find?
Phonics
This week we are going to think about the different sounds that we can make with our voices. Can you play ‘give me a sound’ with Mrs Fagan on Tapestry? Then you could even have a go at making your own home made megaphone so that you can experiment with the different sounds you can make and the volume (sorry parents!)
Count
We are going to explore the number 4 this week. Watch this episode of number blocks. https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b08d61cv/numberblocks-series-1-four
Then, have a go at spotting groups of 4! Ask an adult to lay out two groups of objects for you (pasta, lego, toy cars). One of the groups has 4 in it, can you spot the one with 4? Try lots of times and see if you get quicker!
Create
Can you collect together your colouring pens, pencils, paints, old magazines or any craft materials you have and make a colour collage? You could even try and group the colours together! For some inspiration take a look at Mrs Fagan’s on Tapestry.
