Coldean is a Bike-It school! This is run in partnership with Sustrans. We have been working with Bike-It Ben to promote cycling as a way of keeping fit and having fun! It is also part of our plan to improve sustainable transport to and from the school. This project was started in September 2010 and since then we have achieved our Gold Award, the first school in Brighton & Hove to do so. Bike-It Ben work tirelessly to promote cycling in the city's schools. Our Year 5/6 'Bike-It Crew' have learned to fix punctures, helped out on our "Day-Glo Day" and "Spring Bling" events and are invaluable in organising other children with their bikes and scooters during the "Big Pedal" each March. |
